SMARTS™ Signal Conditioners for Indoor and Outdoor Fiber DAS systems
Combining single- and multi-band RF signals and adjusts RF power levels for fiber DAS systems - all in one tray: Microlab SMARTSTM DAS Signal Conditioner
Fiber DAS systems require Rx/Tx input signals at their front end, and they have to deliver RF signals for wireless devices within the DAS coverage area. The key purpose of both, indoor and outdoor DAS systems is to provide optimal distribution of the available bandwidth. A DAS system that handles multiple wireless operators has to manage also various frequency bands. Furthermore, wireless operators deliver often significantly different signal levels to the DAS points, which require level equalization before the signals can be processed in the Fiber DAS system.

Designed to interface four Tx/Rx signal blocks with a fiber system, the DAS tray allows independent level adjustment of the Tx and Rx elements of a wireless signal. The unit first duplexes each of the Tx/Rx inputs, of which the Tx outputs are combined using a 4:1 Hybrid Combiner. The combined Tx signal is then attenuated by a fixed attenuator before it is fed to a 0-30 dB level adjustment for optimum DAS performance. The DAS Rx signal is fed to a similar level adjustment, before being split into 6, with 4 to the Duplexers and 2 Rx to location monitoring ports. Many other systems are available.
Microlab offers solutions that do all that: combining various bands and equalizing dissimilar RF signal levels: SMARTSTM DAS signal conditioners are available in standard configuration or tailored to any particular RF requirement.
